One Simple Trick is the debut studio album by English indie rock band Lovejoy. It was released independently through the band's label Anvil Cat Records and Revolution Records and distributed through Warner Records on 3 October 2025. Three singles have been released: "With Rob As My Witness", "Pay & Display", and "Common Touch". It is the follow-up to the band's third EP, Wake Up & It's Over.
Background and release
[edit]On 22 May 2025, the band teased the release of their debut album on Youtube. In a Reddit Q&A on 15 June 2025, frontman William Gold hinted that the acronym for their debut album's title would be "OST".[4] The first single from the album, "With Rob As My Witness", was released on 20 June 2025. On 18 July 2025, the album was officially announced, titled "One Simple Trick", on 18 July 2025, and the band announced a tour of the United States and Canada to pair with the album's release.[1]
On 14 August 2025, the release page for "With Rob As My Witness" was updated to display the band's shift in distribution methods, moving to Revolution Records, which is distributed by Warner Records. This would later be confirmed when a 30 second preview for "Pay & Display", the second single from the album, went live the following day. On 15 August 2025, the band announced on social media that "Pay & Display" would be released on 22 August 2025.[5]
On 15 September 2025, the band announced on social media that the third single, "Common Touch", would be released on 19 September 2025. The band performed two surprise shows in the United Kingdom: one in London on 24 September 2025, and another in Glasgow on 2 October 2025, ahead of the album’s release on 3 October 2025.
