New WikiProject
[edit]Hello!
I propose a WikiProject with the working title of Art & Architecture Copyedits.
The proposed WikiProject has two main goals:
- To copyedit any articles related to Art & Architecture that have the copyedit or clarify tag, and
- To create a supportive, welcoming space for newcomers. Experienced editors are also very appreciated, especially for the proposal process, but the WikiProject, once created, will mainly be recruiting newcomers.
If you would like to join, please do comment below, and I'll ping you during the proposal to confirm your intent. I will be posting this message on all related WikiProjects. All experience levels appreciated! 22ManzanaBoy (talk) 15:45, 15 July 2025 (UTC)
One of your project's articles has been selected for improvement!
[edit]Hello, |
Is paper a textile?
[edit]Hello all, excited to join my first WikiProject! While I do intend on involving myself with the full scope of textile arts articles, I want to propose that Paper and its eponymous category be taken under this project's wing. Paper is a non-woven mesh of natural fibers, so it does fit under the definition of textiles. More importantly to Wikipedia, however, is that paper has no real WikiProject. I believe this WikiProject has the proper scope to focus on paper, versus a generalist WP like Materials.
I am unfamiliar with the process of expanding wikiproject scope, so please let me know! chickenpox4dinner (talk) 17:46, 17 October 2025 (UTC)
Do you have heavyweight references that paper is regarded as a textile? It seems unlikely to me. If Wikiprojects have "wings" these days, they are very weak ones, so I doubt much useful purpose would be served if it were included. [edit]For WikiProjects that participate in rating articles, the banners for talk pages usually say something like:
- "This article has been rated as Low-importance on the importance scale."
There is a proposal to change the default wording on the banners to say "priority" instead of "importance". This could affect the template for your group. Please join the discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Council#Proposal to update wording on WikiProject banners.
