[edit]Hello SunloungerFrog:
WikiProject Articles for creation is holding a month long Backlog Drive in December!
The goal of this drive is to reduce the backlog of unreviewed drafts to less than half a month of outstanding reviews from the current 2+ months. Bonus points will be given for reviewing drafts that have been waiting more than 30 days. The drive is running from 1 December 2025 through 31 December 2025.
You may find Category:AfC pending submissions by age or other categories and sorting helpful.
Barnstars will be given out as awards at the end of the drive.
There is a backlog of over 3000 pages, so start reviewing drafts. We're looking forward to your help! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 06:07, 23 November 2025 (UTC)

Question from KneecapDestroyer on Genesis Mission (23:16, 5 December 2025)
[edit]Hello, if there is a non-neutral statement with no reference, may I delete it? I could also try and make it more neutral, but this particular statement is quite hard to modify in such a way. The statement is "Experts believe Genesis will catalyze breakthroughs in climate modeling, healthcare, and space exploration." I'm not sure how I should handle it since I've just been copyediting.
Thanks --KneecapDestroyer (talk) 23:16, 5 December 2025 (UTC)
In short, yes you may. However, you could also read through the existing sources to see if any of them support the statement, or add a } tag. But "Experts believe..." is a fairly clearcut case of WP:WEASEL, so I think you'd be OK to remove it. Make sure you leave a clear edit summary. [edit]Hello how do I publish this page for review --Jamesawiv (talk) 03:04, 8 December 2025 (UTC)
Hi @Jamesawiv. I assume you are talking about User:Jamesawiv/sandbox. I have put a } template on to it, and there's now a button that will allow you to submit it for review as part of the articles for creation process. However, there are several problematic areas, the principal one being the sourcing. As this is a biography of a living person, all statements need to be referenced to a reliable independent source. At the moment, there is a good deal of unsourced content. In addition to that, you need to have at least three reliable independent sources with significant coverage of the subject to establish its notability. There's useful information about how to choose good sources and avoid bad sources here. Finally, in case this is an autobiography, you should note that these are strongly discouraged on Wikipedia, because it is very difficult to maintain a neutral point of view when writing about oneself. I recommend you read WP:AUTOBIOGRAPHY to learn about some of the pitfalls. I hope that helps. Let me know if I can help any more. Hi @Marc Moscato From Buffalo. Your draft is here: Draft:John Young. It was rejected because it doesn't reference any sources: any article content must be able to be verified, and that requires published sources. In addition, to demonstrate that the subject is sufficiently notable to warrant an article, you need at least three reliable independent sources with significant coverage of the subject. There's useful information about how to choose good sources and avoid bad sources here. I hope that helps. Question from Sir Stitches (17:31, 9 December 2025)
[edit]Hello, thank you for being my mentor.
I have a question about linking to source material.
I’m writing an article about an author. In addition to links to reviews of her books in the national press, I also have links to the books on the publisher’s page. Are the latter links to the book’s pages on the publisher’s website allowed as source material?
Best wishes,
Sir S --Sir Stitches (talk) 17:31, 9 December 2025 (UTC)
What do you intend sourcing from them? Better to source, e.g., a selected works section from reviews or other secondary sources than the publisher's site. That's what I did at Andy Shepherd (writer) Cheers, SunloungerFrog (talk) 17:39, 9 December 2025 (UTC) Thanks ever so much. I’ll follow your lead. Sir Stitches (talk) 18:25, 9 December 2025 (UTC) Hello again. I've created a page for my client in the Sandbox page of my user account. Are you able to give me feedback on it, or should I submit it to for review using the button at the bottom of the page? Many thanks, Sir S Sir Stitches (talk) 12:41, 12 December 2025 (UTC) I would say that there is a bit of tidying to do, in terms of making sure that references come immediately after punctuation, not before. Also that you should repeat the references that are book reviews immediately after the books you've listed, so that it is crystal clear that you are seeking to establish notability via WP:NAUTHOR - that generally requires at least two works, with at least two reputable reviews or significant prizes each. Your sources / references look just about OK to me, but an AFC reviewer may have a different view. Before submitting, I suggest that you copy the wikitext to Draft:Madeleine D'Arcy, prepending the } template, and submit from there. Cheers, SunloungerFrog (talk) 13:12, 12 December 2025 (UTC) That's fantastic, thank you. I'll follow your guidance and then see what happens. Thank you very much for all the help. [edit]Hi, SunloungerFrog, I notice you have been welcoming mentees to Wikipedia; thanks for that, and bravo! I just signed up as a mentor recently, and found the sole welcome template, }, wanting. So, I created } and have started to use that one. Feel free to use it as well, and let me know how you like it. I am active on the Welcoming committee, and I think we need a selection of mentor templates available to us to choose from; spare ones like }, graphical ones for some users like }, and others. In some cases, it might be sufficient simply to add a mentor or Homepage link to some of the existing welcome templates. Feel free to add any ideas you have on this to the template talk page, or contact me on my Talk page. Thanks! Mathglot (talk) 12:30, 14 December 2025 (UTC)
Hi @Mathglot and thanks for pointing me in the direction of the template. I just used it in earnest for the first time, and think it's definitely better than the existing mentor welcome one. Cheers, SunloungerFrog (talk) 16:16, 15 December 2025 (UTC) Yvw. I don't know if you've run into this situation, but even if I sit on my dashboard and jump on a new mentee as soon as they are listed, a good part of the time they have already been welcomed by somebody else using a standard welcome template. (This appears to be related to some delay in mentees appearing on the dashboard.) I still want to introduce myself to my mentee, but not with either of the two mentor templates we have now because they are too long and would duplicate a lot of the information in a standard welcome. So, I created } for this situation, i.e., to briefly introduce yourself as their mentor. And it even has an option to say, I'd also like to welcome you... so it flows better after the first welcome. Thanks, Mathglot (talk) 00:16, 18 December 2025 (UTC)Hello, how do I create an article --AbbaAhmad (talk) 15:06, 15 December 2025 (UTC)
Hi @AbbaAhmad, and welcome to Wikipedia. I've left a message on your talk page with some useful links that I recommend you read through. Before you get into writing new articles, I'd strongly recommend that you get some experience of just making edits to existing pages first: take a look at the suggested tasks page. However, if you're really keen to write an article from scratch, read through Help:Your first article first, then use the article wizard to guide you through the process. Some general suggestions from me:- The most important thing is to gather the sources from which you'll write the article first. Don't be tempted to write the article up front and then find the sources to back it up, because that's difficult.
- Very generally, you will need three reliable independent sources with significant coverage of the subject to demonstrate that the subject is sufficiently notable to warrant its own article. There's useful information about how to choose good sources and avoid bad sources here.
- Make sure you use your own words to write the article - don't plagiarise your sources, because copyright violations are taken seriously on Wikipedia.
- Don't use a chatbot or other kind of AI to generate an article - they don't do a good job at all, and your article will probably end up getting deleted.
- Use draftspace or your sandbox to draft your article, rather than create it first off in mainspace. That will allow you to take your time. When it's ready, just move it to mainspace. Good luck! Cheers, SunloungerFrog (talk) 16:15, 15 December 2025 (UTC)

[edit]Hello. I am verifying and removing references that do not conform to wikipedia's policy. --Referenceverifyer (talk) 08:13, 20 December 2025 (UTC)
It is certainly important that content in Wikipedia articles is verifiable. I would note that in this edit you didn't actually remove a reference, but rather an external link, with the edit summary (WP:SPS) removed self published references acting as self promotion. I am interested why you consider it to be self-promotion? Is it your contention that the article's author added it to the article, and that it is not sufficiently high-value? I think the key thing, and what the editors who have reviewed your drafts so far have said, is that you need to demonstrate that the subjects are notable. In general that means an article needs at least three reliable independent sources with significant coverage of the subject. There's useful information about how to choose good sources and avoid bad sources here. Concentrate on finding those sources for the articles you have drafted and make sure that they are based on those sources, and you should be good. Hi @CannedCantrips. You certainly don't need to know all the policies and guidelines, but I'd suggest looking through the links I have put on your talk page before you get started in earnest. [edit]How can I add information about a company that is not available on Wikipedia? --Muhammad Umer 003 (talk) 02:26, 27 December 2025 (UTC)
Hi @Muhammad Umer 003. If you want to add extra information to an existing article, then make sure it is reliably sourced so that it is verifiable and make the edit. Making a new article is more difficult, and I wouldn't recommend that as your first focus on Wikipedia. Hi @ALFrK. I suppose I would start off by asking, what are your three best sources about the subject? By "best", I mean ones that are reliable, independent, and with significant coverage of the subject. (There's useful information about how to choose good sources and avoid bad sources here). - Very generally, you will need three reliable independent sources with significant coverage of the subject to demonstrate that the subject is sufficiently notable to warrant its own article. There's useful information about how to choose good sources and avoid bad sources here.
- Make sure you use your own words to write the article - don't copy and paste from your sources, because copyright violations are taken seriously on Wikipedia.
Question from AcentreOfficer (12:04, 18 January 2026)
[edit]Hello Can I ask you question?.How can I add point tables to wikipedia article, i have the data set with me --AcentreOfficer (talk) 12:04, 18 January 2026 (UTC)
Hi @AcentreOfficer. Can you tell me what you mean by point tables? Then I can try and help. Which article is it? Cheers, SunloungerFrog (talk) 12:12, 18 January 2026 (UTC) Its a table containing different districts of a state and their points they got on Kerala School Kalolsavam and I want to enter the details on 64th Kerala School Kalolsavam. AcentreOfficer (talk) 12:22, 18 January 2026 (UTC) As long as you have a published, reliable source for the data, you can just add it into the article. It looks like you could copy the one here Kerala School Kalolsavam 2025 § Performance table as a starting point. Make sure that you cite your source when you add the data. The manual of style for tables might be helpful reading too. Cheers, SunloungerFrog (talk) 12:52, 18 January 2026 (UTC) Okay Thanks! [edit]Hi SunloungerFrog! I'm planning to draft an article, but I don't know what it should be called. One source says it's commonly called the "Indiana, Ohio incident" (it took place in a town named Indiana in the state of Ohio) but that seems too vague. --Bad at pseudonyms (talk) 20:58, 18 January 2026 (UTC)
Hi @Bad at pseudonyms. Well, I have no idea what the subject is, so it's difficult to advise. I suggest you start it at Draft:Indiana, Ohio incident, and it can always be renamed when it goes into mainspace. You will want to check out the notability guideline for events too. Cheers, SunloungerFrog (talk) 21:18, 18 January 2026 (UTC) I ended up going with 1992 Pennsylvania Brachiotherapy Incident. (Apparently it was in Pennsylvania and not Ohio. I don't know why I misremembered.) Based on the notability guideline, I think it qualifies. It's been extensively reported on (by regulation handbooks and NRC incident reports, if not by news) and caused a lot of restructuring of nuclear medicine regulations Bad at pseudonyms (talk) 21:35, 18 January 2026 (UTC)Hello @Sunloungerfrog, I had made updates, corrections and expansions for the page for Gauri Gill (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gauri_Gill), but a promotional banner was added on top. I have only made factual updates. Can you please take a look and let me know how I can improve this page? The banner was added when only the first introductory paragraph was updated, where the quotes had been placed since much earlier by a previous editor. It would be great to understand how to improve this so I can reference the learning for future updates to other articles as well. Thank you! --GreatWave (talk) 04:36, 19 January 2026 (UTC)
Hi @GreatWave. Probably in the first instance you should contact the editor - Jay8g - who added the maintenance template on the page. I have not had time to read through the article in detail, but I would say that it is very long, and probably over-referenced. I would say that it is worth your reading how to write from a neutral point of view, and try and make the text more concise; in particular you could cut down on direct quotations. Cheers, SunloungerFrog (talk) 15:42, 19 January 2026 (UTC) Thank you so much! I also noticed some placed where I can make some further improvements to make the tone more neutral. Really appreciate your quick review and perspective. GreatWave (talk) 09:01, 28 January 2026 (UTC)Question from Daniellenocha1 (14:01, 19 January 2026)

Question from BartlbyAdams (22:44, 21 January 2026)
[edit]Hello and good afternoon! I think I submitted a new page I created in my sandbox for approval; how does that process work and is there a timeframe for a decision? Thank you! --BartlbyAdams (talk) 22:44, 21 January 2026 (UTC)
Well, I don't think you've actually submitted anything for approval. Which is not a bad thing, because this is a long way from being suitable for Wikipedia, I'm afraid. This looks like your own research, which is not allowed on Wikipedia - see WP:No original research. Articles here must be based on published, reliable, independent sources, and reflect what is in those sources - primary research is not allowed. It is difficult, writing new articles, so before you get into that, I'd strongly recommend that you get some experience of just making edits to existing pages first: take a look at the suggested tasks page. If you want to take your draft further, you should read through Help:Your first article first, then use the article wizard to guide you through the creation process. Some general suggestions from me:- The most important thing is to gather the sources from which you'll write the article first. Don't be tempted to write the article up front and then find the sources to back it up, because that's difficult. (I know you've already made a start, but to be honest I would start from scratch again on a new page, e.g. Draft:Lewis William Thomas).

You do not appear to have been blocked from editing. Which page are you trying to contribute to? Cheers, SunloungerFrog (talk) 07:26, 31 January 2026 (UTC) Oh! I didn't know that I was not blocked anymore and that this question could publish. I'm glad that I was able to fix it afterwards. I'm considering a biography and a book of fiction/poetry? Is there regulations that I should be taking note of? Also, is it possible to create a page about a viral meme? Hlwaar008 (talk) 14:50, 31 January 2026 (UTC) Biographies, especially of living people, are tricky, and I wouldn't recommend them to start with. But check out WP:BIO and WP:BLP. For books, check out WP:NBOOK. Viral memes are generally not notable unless there is WP:SUSTAINED significant coverage, so again I'd leave that one for the time being if I were you. [edit]Hello SunloungerFrog, Thank you for being my mentor. I was assigned a couple of others but they were unresponsive, so I am trying yet again. Another editor I dealt with declined my article Draft:Danny Cummings within nanoseconds of me submitting it. I made the corrections he wanted and he again declined it, claiming the subject doesn’t meant the guidelines for Notability (Musician). But it does. The musician I wrote about has been the focus of at least two long, featured interviews, has composed music used in both movie and TV shows, was in the band that was the first Western pop act to play communist China, and has been an integral part of several notable ensembles…..all of which I used as references in my article. But this editor won’t budge. If I can get another editor’s experienced eyes on this draft article, I would be ever grateful. Thank you for your help. I’ve done everything asked of me regarding revising the draft and still it’s not in the main space. I’m super frustrated. Thanks again! Cheers! --WandaL1710 (talk) 02:48, 1 February 2026 (UTC)
Hi @WandaL1710. I'm sorry you're frustrated. I had a quick look through Draft:Danny Cummings, which was rejected. That usually only happens after many experienced editors have looked at it and come to the conclusion that the subject is not notable. I am not an expert on WP:NMUSICIAN by any means. But if you tell me here what the WP:THREE best sources are, I'd be happy to take a look at those and give you my opinion, though I don't guarantee that this will be any different from the AfC editors who have already reviewed the draft. It would also help if you would say which criterion of WP:NMUSICIAN you consider the subject to meet. Just on interviews, WP:INTERVIEW says that they do not tend to support notability. Cheers, SunloungerFrog (talk) 06:05, 1 February 2026 (UTC) Hello there and thank you for your mentorship and kind assistance. I have earnestly stayed away from “what about”-ism comparisons, but I just cannot comprehend why my subject musician at DRAFT:Danny Cummings is any different as regards notability than the other members of the band Dire Straits, who ALL have Wiki entries. That’s what’s led to my frustration and nearly quit, because NO editor has been able to tell me why those same musicians with the same “pedigrees” nest “Notability” guidelines whereas my subject does not. It seems rather arbitrary. Anyway, as you asked: I used Wikipedia:Notability (music) as my guide (this was recommended to me early on by another WP editor). I quote from it: Guideline #1: "Has been the subject of multiple, non-trivial, published works appearing in sources that are reliable, not self-published, and are independent of the musician or ensemble itself" [check! My draft Refs #6,#23 - these are not promotional/PR pieces, they are interviews of the subject musician published in two separate drumming/percussion outlets]; Guideline #4, "Has received non-trivial coverage in independent reliable sources of an international concert tour, or a national concert tour in at least one sovereign country" [check! My draft Refs #20, #41 — this musician was part of the band and toured several times internationally with Dire Straits, George Michael, John Martyn and Wham!, the latter being the first Western pop act to play in communist China (which is notable in itself!]; Guideline #6: "Is an ensemble that contains two or more independently notable musicians, or is a musician who has been a reasonably prominent member of two or more independently notable ensembles." [check! Numerous draft Refs and also On Every Street; Dire Straits; Mark Knopfler; Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1 et al., see also Wikipedia's own definition of "ensemble" and "band": Musical ensemble and Band (rock and pop); Guideline #10: "Has performed music for a work of media that is notable, such as a theme for a network television show, performance in a television show or notable film, inclusion on a notable compilation album." [check! My draft Refs # 24-27, #38, music for TV shows like NYPD Blue (https://milesbould.com/about. details Cummings contributions to music used in TV and films) also music for the films A Shot at Glory (soundtrack) and The Princess Bride (soundtrack). I hope I have provided enough proof that this musician passes guidelines at Wikipedia:Notability (music). So, again, whilst I know you cannot adjudicate this matter, a review is most appreciated. After this I plan to give this up and will conclude that the guidelines for “notability” of musicians are applied rather arbitrarily — certainly arbitrary when it comes to musicians who have been a part of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees, Dire Straits! I have absolutely NO conflict of interest here. Thank you for your time, energy, and good karma! Cheers. WandaL1710 (talk) 15:11, 2 February 2026 (UTC) OK, I'm going to make a few suggestions/points:- It is an exercise in futility to say "Well X has an article and Y is like X, so why shouldn't Y have an article?" Notability guidelines have evolved - read: "got stricter" - over time, and so article X might well not be up to scratch, and it's just that no-one has said, "hey, X isn't actually notable, let's do something about it." You job as an editor is to show that Y is notable under the current guidelines. I know that's annoying, but that is just what it is.
- Your two interviews just won't count for notability - at least in very many editor's eyes - because they are not independent of the subject - it's his words. You can use them as verifiable sources for stuff about his private life, but not more than that.
- I would say that your draft is too long at the moment, and contains too many less-than-stellar references. It looks like (I'm not saying that it is) a draft that has been composed of a patchwork of tiny bits of material; generally, drafts that are composed of two or three big swathes of material (that is, reliable sources with significant coverage), with a few bits of additional patchwork are a lot better received. Your job is to make a decent article - not necessarily a long one! - that has as few references as possible and demonstrates the subject's notability as unequivocally as possible. I suggest that you prune it down - by all means save the content for addition later once the article has been published - to the absolute high points. If there are critical reviews in decent publications of albums or concerts that the subject has contributed towards, ideally ones that mention the subject by name, that is going to help. I suggest you look for some of those. I would say that your best bet is to focus on the subject's involvement with Wham!, Mark Knopfler albums, maybe the Dire Straits album that he appeared on.
- Right now, a lot of the mentions/coverage are for the ensembles that the subject has played in, not the subject himself. That is a problem, because it means that the ensembles are notable, but not necessarily the people in the ensembles. And it is arguably a stretch that the subject has been a reasonably prominent member of two or more independently notable ensembles - of course you can argue that the subject is reasonably prominent, others might argue not.
- https://samples-now.com/storefront/product/rhythm-of-life-cummings-bould-wav looks quite promising - if you can find the reviews behind these four quotes, that would help a lot to bolster notability.
- Re Dire Straits and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, it doesn't help that the subject's signature doesn't appear on the official plaque https://rockhall.com/inductees/dire-straits/.
Question from Jean-Baptiste Bouchard (02:18, 2 February 2026)
[edit]Hello ! Thx to be my mentor ! Did you know when I can see my Wikipedia page on Google ? Thx you --Jean-Baptiste Bouchard (talk) 02:18, 2 February 2026 (UTC)
Hi @Jean-Baptiste Bouchard. So there are a couple of things here- First, your user page looks like it violates the rules about excessive self-promotion: see WP:UPNOT, which says: Generally, you should avoid substantial content on your user page that is unrelated to Wikipedia. ... Unrelated content includes, but is not limited to: ... Extensive self-promotional material, especially when not directly relevant to Wikipedia. So I suggest that you edit this off your user page, or you risk having it removed by another editor.
- Second, user pages are automatically not indexed by search engines: see Wikipedia:Controlling search engine indexing § Namespace control. So content on your user page will not be indexed, and so you will not "see" it on Google.

Hi @Polynomics. See MOS:OXFORD, which says Editors may use either convention so long as each article is internally consistent. Generally, those who contribute early on to an article get to decide on whether Oxford commas are used or not. Once that decision has been made for an article, future contributors should abide by that decision and tailor their contributions accordingly. Hope that helps! Question from Ross Macnaughton (17:31, 7 February 2026)
[edit]Hi, I have studied the Canada Pension Plan as a professor emeritus for ten years. There is a cover-up in Canada that Premier Smith will not join. Our mainstream media has not covered the most newsworthy story in years. I am trying to bring truth to Canadians with my edit, loaded with links verifying my claims. Please let me know what part of my edit is not acceptable, if any, www.fixthecpp.ca is my website, probably used by Premier Smith to demand Alberta's share of Canada's CPP fund. --Ross Macnaughton (talk) 17:31, 7 February 2026 (UTC)
Hi @Ross Macnaughton. Wikipedia is not the place to right great wrongs. If I can help you with any other questions about contributing to Wikipedia, let me know. Cheers, SunloungerFrog (talk) 17:40, 7 February 2026 (UTC)Question from Mdanishathaheem (14:45, 9 February 2026)
[edit]Hello --Mdanishathaheem (talk) 14:45, 9 February 2026 (UTC)
Hello. Let me know if you have any questions about contributing to Wikipedia. Cheers, SunloungerFrog (talk) 15:13, 9 February 2026 (UTC)Hi and thanks so much for your help! I've created the following page in Spanish and it looks like it's been approved: https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jesse_Baez Then I translated the same page to English and I see it's in personal draft mode: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Ib6f23/Jesse_Baez How can I get the English version approved too? Many thanks!! --Ib6f23 (talk) 18:29, 11 February 2026 (UTC)
I suggest that you cut'n'paste the entire userspace draft in English over the top of your current draft Draft:Jesse Baez and then submit from there. Cheers, SunloungerFrog (talk) 18:45, 11 February 2026 (UTC) OK! I've done that and updated the language on Draft:Jesse Baez. Now I just have to wait for someone for an editor to recheck it? Thank you! :) Ib6f23 (talk) 18:52, 11 February 2026 (UTC) Yep, an articles for creation reviewer will get to it in due course. Cheers, SunloungerFrog (talk) 19:16, 11 February 2026 (UTC)Question from Bad at pseudonyms (20:23, 12 February 2026)
[edit]Hello again! I have another question about my draft for [1992 Pennsylvania Brachytherapy Incident] How much mention of the patient's background (career and such) would be appropriate? Relatedly, would it be okay to include her name? I don't know what the etiquette about that is and I'm worried about being disrespectful. --Bad at pseudonyms (talk) 20:23, 12 February 2026 (UTC)
Hello. If her name is included in the reliable sources you're using for the article, then it would be fine to include it in the article. If her background and career are germane to the incident (and are in the reliable sources), then by all means include it. If they aren't, then don't. Useful reading is probably WP:DUE, WP:UNDUE and some of the privacy bits of WP:BLP. Cheers, SunloungerFrog (talk) 21:17, 12 February 2026 (UTC) She died in the incident, though, so I'd assume WP:BLP doesn't apply Bad at pseudonyms (talk) 12:47, 13 February 2026 (UTC) Yes, understood, but if you are concerned about etiquette and being respectful, then following some of the guidelines in WP:BLP about personal privacy will probably help with that. Cheers, SunloungerFrog (talk) 13:18, 13 February 2026 (UTC) Her background isn't really relevant, aside from the fact that she lived in a nursing home at the time (already included). Bad at pseudonyms (talk) 13:32, 13 February 2026 (UTC) In which case, I'd continue to leave it out. Cheers, SunloungerFrog (talk) 13:55, 13 February 2026 (UTC)Your draft article, Draft:The Boy Who Grew Dragons
