Question from Granchini on User:Granchini (12:10, 2 February 2026)
[edit]Hi Rosiestep,
I hope you’re doing well. I’ve been working on creating a Wikipedia draft for Jayd Poels, a young Belgian field hockey player. I’ve prepared a neutral, verifiable draft with references from HLN, Le Soir, EuroHockey, and official league sites, and I’ve included an infobox with his club and international career.
Since this is my first draft submission, I would really appreciate your guidance in reviewing it and making sure it meets Wikipedia’s standards before I submit it for review.
Here’s the draft page I’ve prepared: Draft:Jayd Poels
Thank you so much for your time and support!
Best regards, Granchini
--Granchini (talk) 12:10, 2 February 2026 (UTC)
Hi Granchini and welcome to Wikipedia. I moved the information you pasted on my talkpage to the draft space you started on January 22, 2026: Draft:Jayd Poels. In the future, don't paste an article (or part of an article) on someone's talkpage. Keep edits regarding the subject on the subject's page. The way to notify someone that you'd like them to look at an article (or draft article), is to wikilink it, such as this: Draft:Jayd Poels. You'll be able to tell if you didn't wikilink it correctly if the link is redlinked such as this, where I'm introducing a typo: Drdft:::::Jayd Poels. Regarding initial guidance about the draft: the current version needs significant improvement to establish the subject's notability. Specifically, familiarize yourself with these policies: Notability (sports), biographies of living people, reliable sources, and verification. The current version also needs to be put in the correct format for an encyclopedic article. There are 161 examples of that here: Category:Belgian male field hockey players. I noticed that you declared a conflict of interest with the subject (Jayd Poels), ergo, if you haven't already, you should familiarize yourself (and comply) with this conflict of interest policy. Regarding further comments about the Jayd Poels draft: the volunteer editors at Articles for Creation (AfC) will provide that once you submit it for review. I don't participate in the AfC discussions, so it won't be me. In the meantime, I left a welcome message on your talkpage with additional helpful information for new editors. --Rosiestep (talk) 13:57, 2 February 2026 (UTC) I noticed you're also working on the Jayd Poels draft on your userpage, in addition to Draft:Jayd Poels. Your userpage isn't meant for content writing, so I recommend that you move the info either to Draft:Jayd Poels or User:Granchini/Jayd Poels. Here are instructions for how to move a page. Hope this is helpful. --Rosiestep (talk) 23:13, 2 February 2026 (UTC)January–February 2026 NPP drive - Phase 2
[edit]Welcome to Phase 2 of the January–February 2026 NPP drive. During Phase 1, we reviewed 16,658 articles and 4,416 redirects, and there is currently a backlog of 16,475 articles and 23,782 redirects in the queue. Fantastic job! Completing 22,502 patrols in the first phase made a significant dent in the backlog. Let's keep our foot on the gas for Phase 2, and I hope we can achieve even more reviews than Phase 1. Best of luck!

Women in Green reviewing drive
[edit]Hello Rosiestep:
This month, February 2026, WikiProject Women in Green is participating in the February 2026 GAN Backlog Drive, in which we're aiming to review as many outstanding Good Article (GA) nominations about women and women's works as possible. If you want to help out, you can check out the project talk page for a list of nominations in need of review (including some WiG originals). If you haven't reviewed a GA nomination before, be sure to check out the reviewing instructions and guidelines and feel free to ask for a mentor to check your work.
We are also working together with a wikithon hosted on 5 February by Wikimedia UK, which will focus on writing and improving articles about women involved in sustainable development. If you want to join the event, feel free to sign up at the eventbrite page; or if you would be interested in providing a 20-minute assessment and/or a full GA review of the submitted articles in the weeks following, put your name down on the project talk page for updates as the event progresses.
We hope to see you there!

Question from EmiYfmania (11:37, 5 February 2026)
[edit]What's Wikipedia bio --EmiYfmania (talk) 11:37, 5 February 2026 (UTC)
Hi EmiYfmania and welcome to Wikipedia. Wikipedia has millions of biographies. If you browse this category and its subcategories and sub-subcategories, you'll be quite impressed: Category:Biographical works. Here is a link to the "wikiproject" for editors who are interested in working on biographies, and you're welcome to join it. The notability guideline for biographies is here. If your interest extends to biographies of living people, you should also acquaint yourself with these guidelines. In the meantime, I left a message on your talkpage with some information for new editors to help get you started. --Rosiestep (talk) 13:24, 5 February 2026 (UTC)February music

Still on vacation, so missed some interesting stories, such as about Jubilant Sykes. Richie Beirach, jazz pianist, is still on as I write this. Which of his music samples would you have chosen? - I met five shy cats in three places yesterday-;) -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:47, 6 February 2026 (UTC)
Oh, that's a tough one to answer. I listened to most of these (not all the way through for each one, but enough to get a sense of who Richie was). Didn't care much for the piano and duet solos. Did enjoy the quartets and ensemble pieces. Thanks for sharing; liked learning about him. Hope you're having a great vacation, G. --Rosiestep (talk) 14:43, 6 February 2026 (UTC)Question from Fisherystar (04:57, 9 February 2026)

Hi Fisherystar and welcome to Wikipedia. I'm glad you are interested in becoming an editor!! To get you started, I just left a message on your talkpage with a lot of helpful information/links for newcomers. Review that stuff and you should feel ready to start editing the articles that interest you. --Rosiestep (talk) 16:49, 9 February 2026 (UTC)Feb 25: WikiWednesday Salon + WCNA scholarship Feb 15 deadline

At least one diff per area expanded into should be cited.
