Articles for Creation backlog drive

[edit]

Hello Mudwater:

WikiProject Articles for creation is holding a month long Backlog Drive in June!
The goal of this drive is to reduce the backlog of unreviewed drafts to less than 1 month of outstanding reviews from the current 3+ months. Bonus points will be given for reviewing drafts that have been waiting more than 30 days. The drive is running from 1 June 2025 through 30 June 2025.

You may find Category:AfC pending submissions by age or other categories and sorting helpful.

Barnstars will be given out as awards at the end of the drive.
There is a backlog of over 3200 pages, so start reviewing drafts. We're looking forward to your help! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:25, 20 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

AfC notification: Draft:2025 Cotton Bowl Classic (December) has a new comment

I've left a comment on your Articles for Creation submission, which can be viewed at Draft:2025 Cotton Bowl Classic (December). Thanks! Robert McClenon (talk) 00:01, 25 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Robert McClenon: Hello! Thanks for the note. I see your comment there, but I'm not quite following it. I see the disambiguation page, which appears to be correct. And I think the draft article has the correct title also. Here are a couple of additional points: (1) For these annual college football bowl games, it's pretty common for the article names to be disambiguated in this way, as it's not unusual for the bowl to be played twice in the same calendar year, but for two different seasons, as in this case. (2) Although I'm an experienced editor, I'm not sure I've actually submitted an article to AfC before. I found this draft that another editor had started, and got it more up to speed and then submitted it. So, would I actually be better off replying to your post on the draft, rather than here? Mudwater (Talk) 00:43, 25 August 2025 (UTC)[reply] See my detailed instructions for reviewers at Draft:2025 Cotton Bowl Classic (December). That explains what will need to be done when the draft is accepted. Robert McClenon (talk) 01:52, 25 August 2025 (UTC)[reply] @Robert McClenon: Hello! Currently "2025 Cotton Bowl Classic (December)" exists as a redirect to "Cotton Bowl Classic". So whoever accepts the draft and moves it to the main space will have to replace the redirect with the article itself. The disambiguation page, "2025 Cotton Bowl Classic", can stay the way it is, if I'm not mistaken. Mudwater (Talk) 10:08, 25 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Weir discography

[edit]

Hi there. For background, the referencing tag at Bob Weir's discography stemmed from the page's "In the News" nomination. The WP:CIRCULAR policy reads:

Do not use articles from Wikipedia (whether English Wikipedia or Wikipedias in other languages) as sources, since Wikipedia is a user-generated source ... Content from a Wikipedia article is not considered reliable unless it is backed up by citing reliable sources. Confirm that these sources support the content, then use them directly.
