Hello and welcome to my user page friends!

About me

My name is Porfirio Torres, I am the 4th generation in my family to have been passed down the name, and I am of Mexican decent, with the ancestors specifically coming from Durango, Mexico. I am also of Polish, and Ukrainian decent. I've been active on Wikipedia for a few years now, primarily editing OHSAA athletic pages. My hometown is in Warren, Ohio. I help run a page called Trumbull Area Sports Network, providing sports coverage for schools within the Trumbull, Mahoning, Portage and Ashtabula County areas. I also sing and create music within my spare time. My dad was a former professional boxer, who debuted at the age of 40, he KO'd both opponents he faced in the 1st and 2nd rounds, he ran his own gym and helped his community for 20+ years until he retired in 2011. Because of this, boxing has been my entire life. I managed to compete in boxing for a short while.

Education

I am a graduate of Chalker High School in Southington, Ohio as well as a Digital Media graduate of the Trumbull Career and Technical Center. in 2022, I was a member of Business Professionals of America Podcast Production Ohio State Championship Team, also leading my team to a second-place finish in the BPA Nationals in Dallas, Texas in 2022. I've also won numerous awards at my time at TCTC in Digital Media. I was also a 4-year letterman in Football and Bowling, as well as a one-year letterman in Baseball and Track and Field. One fun fact about me and my sporting days is I was a part of Chalker's cancelled football season in 2021, losing my senior football season, who has since switched to 8-man.

Wikipedia philosophy

I love contributing to the community, but I will say that notability police sometimes make that difficult, I believe as long as there are multiple articles covering the same subject for multiple events, that should deem it notable, regardless of the style of sources provided, when articles of mine end up rejected, I post them to encyc.org to be able to post something I feel should have its own article.
