Tregaron Turfs Football Club is a Welsh football team based in Tregaron, Ceredigion, Wales. The team play in the Central Wales Southern Division.

History

[edit]

An earlier Tregaron club had won the 1955–56 Aberystwyth League[1] and 1958–59 Cardiganshire League titles.[2]

The current Tregaron Turfs club was founded in 1971.[3]

The club played in the Aberystwyth League before the 2010–11 season when they joined the newly created Mid Wales Football League Division Two. They only stayed in the league for two seasons.[4]

The club then returned to the Aberystwyth League, where they were Division One champions in 2012–13 and again at the end of the 2019–20 season.[5]

In July 2020 the club was announced as one of the tier 4 clubs in the restructured West Division of the Mid Wales Football League.[6] In 2022 league reorganisation meant they were moved into the newly-formed Southern Division.[4] In 2023–24 they were Central Wales League Cup winners, after beating Kerry in the final.[7]
