Jigai was nominated for deletion. The discussion was closed on 27 February 2013 with a consensus to merge. Its contents were merged into Seppuku. The original page is now a redirect to this page. The article currently makes the dubious claim that "Harakiri ... would only be assigned as a punishment towards acts deemed too heinous for seppuku." Do we have the slightest evidence in Japanese sources for this? AFAIK in Japan no legal distinction was ever made been the two. Jpatokal (talk) 07:10, 9 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
