The result of the move request was: not moved. Calling this somewhat of a WP:SNOW close. All users' arguments are within the WP:SINGULAR policy, and even if this were to last the entire week, others would most likely follow suit. Breadstick → Breadsticks – see Ngram: [1]. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ~2026-16282-5 (talk) 21:40, 8 January 2026 (UTC)

- Then you need to reverse the outcome of many move requests (such as panini by applying WP:SINGULAR there), instead of applying double standards. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ~2026-19065-3 (talk) 19:08, 9 January 2026 (UTC) I notice that you used a "pipe" to avoid showing the actual title of the article that you linked in the remark, which is Panini (sandwich). I looked for a relevant requested move discussion about it and did not find one. I notice that the article has a sentence in it that says "In English dominant countries, panini is widely used as the singular form, with the plural form panini or paninis, although some speakers use singular panino and plural panini as in Italian.". As far as I can tell, the title of that article is singular in English (although perhaps not in Italian). A certain amount of judgment is needed in this case, as I believe it is common for more than one breadstick to be served at a time. It's a judgment call. Indeed, a few articles have plural titles (Potato chips, French fries, Fried potatoes), but Wikipedia generally prefers singular except in cases where the singular form seems unnatural. — BarrelProof (talk) 20:22, 10 January 2026 (UTC)
- Oppose per WP:SINGULAR. 162 etc. (talk) 02:18, 9 January 2026 (UTC)
- Oppose WP:SINGULAR ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 03:03, 9 January 2026 (UTC)
- Oppose, singular fits (pluralizing not needed as one breadstick can be eaten by itself and eating many breadsticks at a time is not typically known, except in annual breadstick eating contests). Randy Kryn (talk) 14:24, 10 January 2026 (UTC)
- Oppose. Frequently found in the singular in any case. -- Necrothesp (talk) 16:57, 13 January 2026 (UTC)
