Beast Land was a temporary theme park in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It was created by American YouTube personality Jimmy Donaldson, known as MrBeast, and opened on 13 November 2025 as part of Riyadh Season 2025.[1] The park operated from 13 November 2025 until it closed 45 days later on 27 December 2025.[2]
Overview
[edit]Beast Land was located near Boulevard City and Boulevard World, two major zones of Riyadh Season.[3] The park covered 188,000 square metres (2,020,000 sq ft) and included rides, games, and challenge-based attractions inspired by MrBeast's online videos. The project is part of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 program, which aims to increase tourism in Saudi Arabia.[4]
The park included roller coasters, thrill rides, family attractions, carnival games, food stalls, and merchandise areas.[5] It also had a competition arena featuring physical challenge games.[6]
Reception
[edit]Media outlets reported large crowds during the opening, with fans gathering to see Donaldson and try the challenge-based games.[6]
Controversy
[edit]Media outlets questioned the location of the event due to Riyadh's history of human abuse violations, harsh labor conditions, and some of the most stringent media restrictions in the world. Disclosures for the event noted that failure to follow rules in Riyadh could result in fines or deletion of media on phones/cameras. Very little information was released about how the temporary theme park was set up in the middle of Riyadh, including how employees were treated during its construction.
Mr. Beast defended the location[7] on his Twitter account, stating that it was in the "middle of the world because a majority of my audience is outside America and we have a big Middle Eastern fan base." The post was later hit with a community note detailing that Donaldson had partnered with Riyadh Seasons to help manage and build the temporary event, and that it was sponsored by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to boost his country's economy. As previous media outlets have noted, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman had also ordered the assassination of American journalist Jamal Khashoggi.[8].
