Batizovce (Hungarian: Batizfalva) is a village and municipality in the Poprad District in the Prešov Region of northern Slovakia. The village contains evangelical and Roman Catholic churches in classic and baroque styles.

Geography

The municipality lies at an altitude of 751 metres (2,464 ft)[3] and covers an area of 14.37 km2 (5.55 sq mi) (2024).[4]

History

In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1264. Locals had been engaged in agriculture, forestry, pottery, weaving and charcoal production. In 1934 they began to be employed in industrial facilities in Svit.
